What is the NDAA
The NDAA ("National Defense Authorization Act") is a federal law of the United States specifying the U.S. Department of Defense's budget.
Section 889 of this law, which aims to counter potential cyber threats, prohibits U.S. federal authorities and their suppliers from using telecommunications equipment and video surveillance equipment produced by specific blacklisted manufacturers.
The law also prohibits these authorities from trading any organisation that uses such products.
